Ok it has some pros and it has some cons

First off!!! OMFG is this thing L-O-U-D!!!!! [img]graemlins/omg.gif[/img] Flowmaster owners...you remember how loud your exhaust sounded when it was first installed (or any muffler)? Well picture that feeling all over again when adding the high flow. It's loud and it sounds GOOD, really deep and gurgly down low. Ok ok ok, now here comes the bad news, topend pulls hard, but it sounds more ricer like! :( Not ricer ricer sounding, but a little bit more "tinny." I'm sure the sound will grow on me over time but for now I must say the PROS HEAVILY outweigh the cons.

When u said LOUD, you gave me 2nd thoughts on a High Flow Cat. I like the volume of my catback now and I really don't mind it being a little louder. But I don't want the same volume increase from a catback(ex. catback = volume4, catback+cat = volume8). People say it's pretty loud on the outside and I can hear it echoing(sp?) in the parking structures and off houses, but inside it's very tolerable with the window open or closed. And when it gets HOT it quiets down, like if I am on the highway for a while. Kinda kewl, cause you don't get that constant annoying drone when traveling long distances. But yeah, cant wait fo your clips!! :cool:

ok it's loud as in...as loud as a V8's catback. I'm sure you've noticed their exhaust is usually louder than ours. That's about the loundness of mine. On the highway you barely hear it still, unless you get on it, and idle is loud enough so you can hear it in the car but that's it...not overwhelming. It gets loud at the reverberating rpm around 2,000 and from 4,000 up.

The muffler has to burn in again and put carbon deposits in places then it won't be as loud or tin can sounding. I had to go though that after taking the cat off.

Glad to hear it worked out for ya. I remeber when i frist got mine on it was so loud but now after almost 700miles it had really gooten mellow. It is not as loud as it was before but it still has a good sound to it and it also got deeper too.
[img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] By the way, my SES light came on after 400 miles. I am sure yours will come on also. I did notice taht my car from the inside sounded tinnty up top espally when cold but now when it warms up the tinnty sound is hardly even there. It reminds me of a raspy V8 with a bad muffler [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img] but in a good way.

I had to add an extension to my catback since that Catco is way smaller. Oh btw, this thing PULLS on topend. I floored it from around 50 and it almost felt like my friend's SS (well not really) but I sat there as the wheel pulled a bit and I said "WOW! My car can actually pull now!" 14s...??? :D

Some people say our cars have an identity crisis. V8 down low, I4 up top. I don't have that problem at all when the muffler is warmed up. IMO and others, it sounds more like a mean V6 up top, but that's just my car. ;) I've had several people listen to my car at WOT, and they ALL said it sounded real good (like a mean V6), even with the slight rattle. I let others drive my car, so I can see for myself. Up top, it sounds like a V8 with a cutout type rattle, but not as deep.

well I floored it on the highway last night and it only took approximately 4sec or so to pull from 100-110 (I was on an open highway w/o traffic) and I was like whoa. I'll get a sound clip up later today.
