open exhuast

I was wonder, the loudmouth is pretty much an open exhaust system, with a 4" piece of pipe acting as a resonator, could i just go with an open 3" exhaust from the cat, would that sound similar, would it be too loud? I think it would sound alright.

PS- my car, got a new tranny( for those of u who remember my past post)

i have 3 inch straight back from the cat.... now if you want loud that is the cheapest and loudest way to go. gets RICEY past 3k rpms but its loud and i read somewere that its supose to give like 3 more rwhp than any muffler system. do u have a recording, i would be really interested in it. and about the ricey, all V6s will get ricey, mine sounds ricey past 3k with the stock muffler, what do u expect its missing two cylinders...

I pretty much have NO MUFFLER, because exhaust is routed through:

Headers,
turbo,
3" stainless steel downpipe,
no cat,
3" adjustable borla--->with the open plate. :D

Sounds wonderful at idle-4500, similar to an 8,
An sounds like a well tuned race car from 4500-5500. :D

EDIT: Forgot to add that EVERYONE, knows when I come home, well they hear me coming home at least. ;)

Yeh my sounds AWESOME at idle and everyone hears me come in when i arrive late INSIDE our school on mondays LOL umm ill try to get some sounds clips up yeh i will have to start saying a well tuned race car past 4k instead of RICE !! i like it.

yeah, if u think it sounds like rice, u have obviously never heard a honda civic with a big fat fart muffler on it. it sounds like an old man farting after eating a big bowl of rice. when american v6s hit high rpms they sound like, v6s hitting high rmps... hehehe
