  • Going from 2.5 to 2.75?

    I heard people got pretty good gains, what do you think i will gain outta it, also it will have a cutout....
    New:04 GMC Sierra 1500 RCLB 4x4 5.3 GU80 3.73\'s.<br />Truck pics<br />Mods<br />Go fast: Panel K&N filter and soon SS truck catback.<br />Appearance: Stull Billet grill,Weston Chrome step tubes,Rhino Chrome hitch step,ARE painted fiberglass cover,Silver star lighting.

    The whole exhaust system 2.75? I'd say anywhere around 15-25 hp being on the skeptical side.Make sure you have an upgraded intake though first [img]smile.gif[/img]

      You talking at the crank? That sounds way too high. I would guess no more than ~8-10 for a the whole cat-back (over stock). And i'm even basing those numbers on 3" pipe.

        Right now i have a 2.5 flowmaster catback, im going to replace the whole I pipe and get a cutout and behind that will be a flowmaster muffler 2.5 2.5.....

          Well, it will sound better (deeper) is all i can tell you for sure. [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] I just don't think you will see any huge hp gain going from 2.5 to 2.75, although you should get some improvement. Only way to know for sure is to dyno before and after or compare track times.

              from stock to 2.75 yielded (over four runs) a 0.1sec decrease in ET and a 1.5MPH increase in the 1/4

                Does that include the Catco, or are the gains just catback?

                  without the Catco and with bad plugs/wires.

                  I just had the Catco put on Friday...I haven't had a chance to take it to the track but the car has bigger kahunas under the hood now after the install
