• Got my pacesetters today. few ?s

first off they look awesome! i got ceramic coated headers compliments of Texas-Speed. Is there any way to tell if they are from the old non fitting batch or if they are the new ones? also do you guys have any tips for the install?

I think the only other problem with them besides fitment is the gasket, but then again u have 94 did not seen any porblems with those just 97+ ones i think

soak all the bolts the night before and wake up early in the morning and soak them again. that should help a lot getting the bolts loose. drivers side is pretty easy, pass side has a couple bolts that are a biotch. remove the alternator and anything else that gets in the way. just be patient and try not to get frustrated. good luck.

you will not have any problems with the headers being from the bad batch. those were made over a year ago

thanks for the replies.
i just ordered a set of locking header bolts tonight off of summit. i was a little wary of the looks of the gaskets included. they just look like a piece of cardboard but ive never really heard too much about pacesetter gaskets leaking.

what are the torque specs on the header bolts? is there any chance of having enough room to get a torque wrench on the bolts?

I never torqued mine when I did the istall. I just snugged them down real good. And then I'd snug them down again while they were warm every 200 miles for the first 1000. Now I just check them each oil change.

well see i got locking bolts so that wont be necessary so just snug them up real good? im really paranoid of overtightening them and warping the flanges. I was planning on using those closed end wrenches with the ratchet inside. ( craftsman makes them)

are there any sites with like tips or install guides especially on how to get the old logs off?
thanks
