  • Has anyone ever port and polish their TB?

I would like to do it to mine. Was there any draw backs? Do you have instruction on how to do it?

A couple people here have done it, and I've seen a PDF posted with the instructions.

The general consensus is that it's not worth the trouble (tuning, etc), though.

I did it, made my car run alot smoother, only drawback was I did it by hand and it took a really good while.

I'm doing it at the moment. Biggest drawback... I was dumb and decided to polish the outside too. That's taking a while. The inside really wasn't that hard.

        1) Cut through the I part with a hacksaw blade.
        2) Use a dremmel tool to whittle down the extra pieces left.
        3) Sand down with the cylinder sanding bits and a dremmel.
        4) sand down by hand with 400 - 800 sandaper.
        5) Polish up.
        6) Most important! DO NOT polish the outside. It's a friggin pain in the ***!

yea when this was talked about last time everyone pretty much said that tuning would be a problem and figuring out how to tune it with the sensor for the more air going through.

It's not a big deal to adjust the MAF sensitivity w/HPtuners.

              DON"T DO IT.
I ****ed mine up when i did it. If you want to do something to it, take it off the car, clean it up with carberator cleaner, and then polish it with a cloth polishing disk on a dremel.
Its really not worth the trouble, our cars Throttle bodys can flow more air than the car can take in.

I did it. Made it nice and smooth, sharpened the middle under the MAF inlet a lot, removed the screen. Noticed little difference, if any. My3birds is right that our TB's can flow more air than the engine needs.
