  • New Pacesetter paper gaskets

I got fel-pros on right now, and yea im sure they are causing the leak i have, so i bought the pacesetter ones, but for the install is there anything special i need to do. Like is there anything that i have put on the gaskets to install them other than just put them in place and tighten the bolts?

soak them in water overnight before you put them on.

I've used 2 sets of paper gaskets (one for inital install, and 1 during heads/cam swap) and I didn't do anything special to them. Open the package and install them.

I also heard about soaking the pacesetter gaskets in water also, what is the point of doing that? and does it really help out? I put ultra copper sealent on my pacestter gaskets, but my drivers side just started leaking again, so im wondering if i should soak them this time?

Copper ones won't leak if you can get/make them.

pathogen coverd my pacesetter gaskets in petroleum jelly (vaseline). They have absolutly no problems, so I'd do that again. I forget what she said about it, cuz I thought it was strange, but there really is a good reasoning as to why she put it on them.

I just put mine on without doing anything to them. No problems here. Had them on for about 4000 miles, no leaks yet.
