• Is Bolt-on better than welding?

Is it better to bolt on than to weld a catback/exhaust? Is bolt-on cheaper?

edit: Also, what do you guys think about Magnaflow for our cars? Does it sounds as good as the flowmaster?

I wouldn't say either is better. As long as the install is done properly you shouldn't have problems with either. Bolt-on would be easier to install yourself; and cheaper if someone else is doing the work.

Does the flowmaster 80 come with a catback?

<-- doesn't have a single bolt on the exhaust system

I find that with bolts, things can get loose...welding it won't. However if you had to remove part of the piping for some reason, a bolt system would be much easier to work with. It really doesn't matter tho.

bolt on defines as bulls#it! rarely does something labeled "bolt on" ever actually just bolt on. ive never done anything on a car that simply bolted on like a snap. cat backs usually dont come with "s" pipes i dont think, and i also had to have an "i" pipe made as well when doung mine. bolt on is simply a term used by companies to let you think it will be a snap to install and will only take 2 minutes to get done. same companies that say you gain 34 horses from their easy install product too.

So basically it's bolt-on with some spot welding here or there? Anyone know a cheap place for tail pipes?

unless you bought the wrong catback, i highly doubt that. any catback for a single-cat 4th gen Fbody comes with an S-pipe. a catback for the dual-cat would not have the S-pipe.

what catback does not have an I-pipe? that defeats the meaning of catback. did you just get a muffler?
