• Exhaust Sound

I know this has been talked about alot but I have a slightly different question. I have listened to most of the sound clips posted on this board but have not found what I am looking for. I want to increase performance but I don't want it to be loud, even at WOT. I would like to be able to hear the exhaust but not be obnoxious. What does everyone think?

Also I have only heard sound clips; I have never heard a V6 F-Body w/ a performance exhaust in person so I don't know what they really sound like.

You're looking for exactly what I'm looking for. Get a Z28 or SS muffler and possibly the whole cat-back. It won't do as much, but it definitely will do the sound. I've been hunting for a Z28 muffler or SS muffler and tips for a while.... always miss out on the sales... Listen for a Y87 in person. Those should come with the SLP dual outlet mufflers... basically an SS muffler but with a 2.25" inlet for our V6's. SLP sells brand new ones for like $170 I believe.
Yes, I know \"Artic\" should be spelled \"Arctic\". Can any of the mods change this?

Dynomax is pretty mellow, but it wasn't deep and loud enough for me, so I switched back to the flowmaster.

I finally heard a WS6 exhaust on a 3.8 last week. It sounded like a stock exhaust to me. I wasn't impressed at all.

The Y87 (W68 has same) exhaust has a somewhat better sound than the base cat back. For me, it is perfect. It does not drone at all, very nice for daily driving to/from work and the occasional trip up to Orlando or over to the Gulf.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Everybody on this board that had Borla said it was quiet. (do a search) Pluss its the best looking exhaust IMO.
