i just got my loudmouth on today. It is VERY LOUD. I was wondering if the ricy sound at higher rpms goes away after a while? Any comments or questions please post.

nope, I suggest quad resonated tips to eliminate some of the riceyness at high rpms, as well as smooth it out and quiet it down a bit, cuz my friend in Fla. got a nice ticket cuz he's got a loudmouth and a 3" cat on his 3.8 camaro and when he idles, he can set off car alarms supposedly.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Mine doesn't get what i would call ricey at all. Its more of a 'tinny' sound. But it does smooth out quite a bit after driving it for a while. It sounds much better now then when i got it in october. It mellows out a lot. I would say mine now sounds really nice (and loud ;) ) all the way up to ~4500-4700 rpms.

It will smooth out a little, but it will not go away. Rule of thumb: don't rev your 3.8 in neutral if you don't want to hear that horrible pop.
Oh, I just noticed, you have one of those rare '95 3.8s!

Seriously, it will decrease a lot! When the car is cold it will do it at like 3500 rpm, but that is true with most all exhaust (aftermarket). After a few minutes of driving it is much better, trust me, it makes all the difference. I have a 3.4 and love it after just a few weeks! Just give it a little while to burn in. For all intents and purposes you will be able to floor it and it will put a smile on you're face. :D Sounds so deep and mean. Just look at the positives... just about every exhaust on a v6 gets a little 'ricey' as you called it, but not until very high rpms. I've learned to floor it and ease of a little at about ~4700 rpms. No 'rice' at all. After that,well, it is a v6; but for basically straight pipe and 160 hp stock i can't complain. I have to say i'm very satisfied and would not consider switching to any others i've heard. So many people tell me they think it is a v8 at cruising speed. You'll get a lot more people wanting to race you're *** to. [img]smile.gif[/img]
edit: just a little FYI, it sounds awesome with heavy acceleration b/t 3200 to 4000 rpms.. gets that throaty sound!

Here's a REALLY good link on installing the Loudmouth I found. It dosen't say anyhing about the adapter kit needed for the V6, but I bet it'll help.

I just got done ordering the loudmouth, adapter and a new 3" high flow cat. Cant wait to hear it. If I get a digital camera I'll take some pictures and maybe a few vid clips with my video camera. Hell yeah! In my opinion the Loudmouth is the exhaust to get. But on the other hand I have a thing for loud exhaust. It gives the car more of an aggresive personality I think. I've gotten love it/hate it remarks, and it's all about what you want. I prefer to get people's attention, so I love it. It does sound a tad raspy at high rpms, but under WOT it kicks *** .You want to know what\'s on my car? Tough luck!
