what sounds better w/ aftermarket exhaust: 3" or 2.5" highflow cat?

I haev a 3" hiflow catco.. my exhaust gurgles and pops.. not too ricey unless high up rpms though.. with a 2.5 would it be less gurgly since theres more back pressure?

I can only tell ya one thing dude and that is to install your stock cat back on there. That is the only that i can see that will take care of the poping raspyness.

Sounds like a muffler problem to me, try a new muffler.. the new 5" Flowmaster 80's are a good choice to reduce the popping sound or even get rid of it...

it's not the cat., it's the cat-back. all of them have it since there's reduced backpressure. i suggest resonated tips or a resonator in the I-pipe. keep the cat, u'll want it later when u do heads, cam, sc, or nitrous.

It is a good posablity, i am not sure. My car pops alittle too with the stcok cat but not much.
