  • Muffler on end of y-pipe, opinions please!!!

Ok I changed the title cuz nobody was looking at this post, this is only a temp setup but i'd like everyone's opinion on it, i've gotten nothing but good comments on it. Even from LT1 guys. Anyway from the begining my old cat started rattling so i replaced it with a catco cat, 2 weeks after I got the catco I hit some major rockage in the middle of the road I couldn't avoid and it damaged it pretty bad. A week later all the honeycomb blocked off my exhaust and it was almost undriveable. So I bought my friend's ravin cat back from him in an attempt to gut the cat and put that on. I had some trouble, and no exhaust shop would weld the exhaust system for me, w/o touching the cat. And the car was wayyyy to loud to drive with just the y-pipe. Next week my boss is getting my exhaust done for me for cheap so until then i wanted to drive my car. So me and john went up to advanced auto and asked what mufflers they had that were 3in. The only one the guy came back with is a Chevy Suburban 3in econo muffler made by Walker, it was only 20bucks so I said lets do it. We got it on there and it doesn't sound bad at all. We put a little turndown off to the side slightly. It looks kinda cool down the road, like an old skool dump on a car. It almost sounds like a porche lol. I have a vid of my car. Also go to my cardomain website to check pics of what it looks like, i have several pics of it on the car and up close. Check it out @ http://www.cardomain.com/id/zennx (it's the 3rd row down)

I got the vid of the walker uploaded to my geocities. it's around 4.4mb zipped. Now in the vid i get it up to about 40 it's not full throttle but almost close i come down and I rev it and hit the limiter (notice it isn't raspy) i think the cat is whats making our cars raspy with chainsaw. Actually sounded pretty nice ... I'd think that it would be a decent exhaust ... though give us a highway report, that thing must drone like a mofo. I wouldn't mine having y-pipe to cat to muffler or to glasspack (all in a row, no piping) and then a dump before the axle out the side. Maybe this summer I'll fab it up.

Actually im not going to lie, ever since it has burned in and i been driving it for 3 days now it does drone like a mofo, it also shakes everything in the car, not as bad as just a y-pipe though ;)
