  • how f***** am i??? update!!!

well, i just got out from underneath my car and i am still shocked... the ground wire for my O2 sensor on my driverside header is cut in half. that explains the O2 low volts code. then, i looked to the right of that and it looks like the weld on my header where the pipe meets the flange in the head is broken and leaking. both of my collectors are gasketless ( both have blown out.) and to top it all off, my cat is clogged.

Solution= i am going to have to remove my head to fix the wire. while the head is off, i will look to see if the weld is broken. if it is, i will re weld it. while all this being done, i am going to gut out my cat and rehang it. then, i am going to get my collectors cut off and have the header and y-pipe welded together.

i am not looking forward to this job.

RK sport. i do not recommend them to anyone. they have been nothing but a headache from the day i installed them over a year a go!!!

i was lookin at it again and i dont think i'll have to take the head off. i think i'm just gonna run the ground to another spot on the engine. but, the header is coming off for sure. after the collectors are welded and all the header welds are reinforced, they shouldn't be too bad.

you should look into sending them back and getting your money. pacesetters would give you less trouble

i go through collector gaskets mad fast. i even tried metal gaskets and the passenger collector still leaked and the driver side gasket blew apart. now, the middle exhaust tube, where it meets flange at the head, might have broken. maybe i got a bad set. if they are working for you then git r done, but mine suck A$$

Most RK headers suck ***....the flange problem has been going on for years....should have gotten paceseeters after looking about the RK's on here.

well the good news is, since that ground wire has been cut, my car has been running incredibly rich. my gas mileage has gone up about 2-3 city miles since its been fixed. still waiting for the collector weld though. it'll get done on thursday.

this is off the subject, sorta, but i did not have a good experience with RK sports either. i will not buy anything from them. just my 2 cents.

well, i fixed the wire, and i gutted my cat. all i have left to do is get my headers welded tomorrow morning and i am rockin' and rollin'. one question is on my mind though. what kind of performance gains am i going to see i wonder. i was running 14.6 with a partially clogged cat. now i have no cat. im thinking maybe a tenth?? any thoughts?
