Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Run 1 was WITH the MAF screen, runs 2 and 3 (middle and top) were with out the MAF screen. Did 2 runs w/o so I won't hear the "ohh well the PCM needed to compensate."

Now that I have taken care of the "ohh take out your MAF screen for more power." MYTH!However, this is my personal car and a biased data sample. Dan told me it was a HUGE myth and all the cars they dynoed it made no difference with it in or out, and only caused problems with it out. SO LEAVE THE THING IN! It gives you neglible gains with it out and only leaves the potential for problems, in the case of an A4, a surging idle with mine while in gear during de-celeration.

    Here are the stats -
    run 1 - 80 degrees 29.98 hg 75% humidity
    Max power 149.98
    max torque - 173.31

    Run 2 (no maf screen) - 80 degrees 29.99hg 76% humidity
    max power - 150.32 (gained .34hp)
    max torque - 171.52 (lost 1.79 lb/ft)

    Run 3 (no maf screen) - 80 degrees 30.00hg 77% humidity
    max power - 149.08 (lost .9hp)
    max torque - 174.65 (gained 1.34)

Mods - edge 2800 stall converter, !FRA, K&N Filter, whisper lid, everything else stock

    info - 90,500 miles on the clock, 3.08 open rear. 99 Camaro V6, A4.

Damn why is your torque kinda low? I did 175 RWTQ on my 94 3.4 with just pretty much intake and a cut out.

They told me that my higher stall converter was taking away some HP.

I'm still pulling 2.0 and 2.1 60 fts and 15.6-7's in this ungodly heat and humidity in florida.

I also thought my HP and TQ numbers were really low, but if they get me down the track just as fast as those putting down 165+rwhp and 200 rwtq, i'm happy.

A guy in SCFBA with me that has a 2001 (tubular manifolds) flowmaster catback, cutout, FTRA, lid, filter and Y87 package along with LCA's and SFC's (plus nitto 245/50/16 drag radials) was pulling 15.6'-7's consistant on july 31st at BMP while I was pulling 15.7 to 15.8 consistant. When we finally did race, he beat me by .1333 according to the ticket, which looked like about 1/2 car link.

His dyno numbers at a dynojet shop as well were 166rwhp and 200 rwtq. But thats with all those mods. Consider my car is nearly stock except for lid.

Look how flat my torque curve is as well...Its consistant throughout the band.

humidity numbers? barometric pressure readings? outside air temps?

miles on the car? Y87 package or no?

                all play factors in it.

what about your track times? It really perplexes me that I can run decent times with as low as HP/TQ as i'm putting out. Some people with all the bolt ons and better gearing barely run or can't run as good as times as I can.

How high did you rev the engine on the dyno?

Most stock 3800's get dynoed in 3rd gear, which is 1:1 gear ratio. They end up hitting the topspeed limiter at about 5100rpm.

Did you get stopped by the limiter, or could you wind the motor up to redline?

Yes, they did dyno it in 3rd gear. I THINK it hit the speed limiter, I do not think he took it to redline due to the limiter.

What does having LSD VS a open rear have to do with dyno #s?

                          he said 3.08's

It takes longer for my car to wind up and stay in the power band with 3.08s with my stall converter.

Damn! You have like 25% drivetrain loss! Thats insane! I read somewhere that 3000GT VR-4's with all wheel drive, and stock heavy *** wheels, have like 30% drivetrain loss, but that is kinda odd.

EDIT: And by the way, 3.08's dont have anything to do with dyno numbers. He would have dynoed the same thing with 3.08's as he would have with 3.73's, 3.42's, or 4.56's. FYI.

any ideas as to what is causing the drivetrain loss?

and howcome my ET's aren't bad for a stock car nearly?
