• Cat blew out!

Well, on attempt for the second time picking my car up from general motors for warranty repair for squeaky brakes, i got in my car started it, and it didnt have any exhaust noise. I took off, and i couldnt get my car over 3000 rpms, also, i couldnt get the car to 40 mph. I took it back and they said my cat blew out. I raised hell because It blew out sometime while they had it, and didnt even say anything (they tried to blame it on me) but anyway im still under warranty so theyre fixing it. At least I got a rental that theyre paying for. A cheap a** malibu, but it works. Whats the name of the cheap cat everyones buying? Catco? Thanks

Thats exactly what happened to me dude, except with a catco i had on for only 2 weeks. All the stuff gets broken inside and stops up your exhaust. Yea catco is the one, i don't recommend that cat to tell you the truth. I think it's too light you hit one thing and it's out. What the v8 guys know that we don't is that these cats suck. I heard only good things about Random Tech and Carsound cats, heard they were more durable too. And if you do go on the catco binge dont' get a 6007 like everyone says they have those stupid air tubes for the carbuerated cars we aren't even going to use, i don't know why everyone tells you to get one, i got one and i wase like wtf? Get the 6907 w/o the air tube. Personally i think it ads a cheap feel to the car. Not to make anyone mad but thats my 2 cents from someone who's previously owned one.

The airtube is capped off. I've had my catco for a year now with no problems. Catco=50 bucks. Random tech=100+ bucks. Mikey, it's your call. ;)

Just because alot of people have it doesnt mean its the best out there....perfect example is the Flowmaster 80 series! Alot of people have it, but its not nearly the best flowing muffler out there...just my 2 cents

Nothing worng with a catco cat. A highflow cat is just the same as any other highflow cat. They all have the same marterial inside and are better than stock. Why pay 190 for a highflow when you can get one for 50.
