  • A few questions

First off hi, I'm new to these forums (If anyone here goes on automotiveforums.com tho, u may know me, 97CamaroRS there). I've been thinking of what exhaust to put on for a while now. First I was looking at the Flowmaster American Thunder catback, then found out that apaprently flows are the worst flowing mufflers for camaros besides stock (now i'm not sure if that's just for v8). Then I started thinkign about getting a Magnflow catback, maybe a high-flow cat (those are emissions legal right?)
I did a couple searches and found here that many of you have/like Flowmaster 80 series. I saw some posts about running flowmaster catback w/ a dynomax bullet in place of the cat and about that sunding nice, but I can't do that in NJ, we have emissions testing.
I also saw that a lot of people like the SLP loudmouth, to those people, do you just use the catback for ls1 or lt1?
It seems most people here don't like the magnaflows, i saw a video just now and didnt really like the top end (and I know, it will get high or raspy or "ricey" at a certain point no matter what)

    So my questions are:
How can i get a deep rumble/aggressive tone, with added performance also? And hopefully under like 400-500 dollars, I don't have too much money to work with.
Does the resonator on the American Thunder catback help the tone much?
Also i see a lot of ppl have this "rumbler", how is that?
I'm basically looking at magnaflow, flowmaster, or loudmouth. maybe tsp rumbler. Also as long as i'd pass emissions, I see no reason to not get a high-flow cat while I'm at it.
    Thanks

edit: I'm also now thinking about getting pacesetter headers in the future. Maybe saving up and doing this all at once. Also forgot to say that I'm saving up for an SLP CAI

I got loudmouth and love it. It was $410 shipped and that included the v6 "adapter kit". Noticable power gain, especially top end. Deep grumble at low rpms as well.
