  • Does header wrap keep outside of pipe cool?

If i use header wrap, will the outside of the pipe stay cool? I guess it will just depend on how much wrap there is on it, right?

    Thanks

I've used the header wrap on my 86 TransAm's headers and it worked great! I only needed to wrap them once and it was good enough to keep me from getting burned. It's a PITA to install though. Wear gloves when working with it. It has fiberglass in it, and gets all itchy on your skin, especially if you're sweating. Also, soak it in water before wrapping the headers. It makes the wrap easier to mold around the pipes.

Over long periods of time, some header wrap will rust out the header primary piping. Be sure that you get header wrap that is good quality so that the moisture does not stay soaked into the headers.
