does this setup sound good to you guys?

im getting me a FAT check tomorrow from insurance claims..

first things first ,im gonna fix my body damage. my body kit, then my exhaust.

but back on subject, this is the setup im gonna go with..


3inch in and out catco, 2.75 inch piping all the way cat back, Flowmaster 80 series muffler.

but how do i make the s pipe? is the s pipe the one that goes over the axle? or is that the pipe coming from the cat?

go to Prospect Muffler (Prospect Road (near Commercial Blvd. and I-95). They'll set you up. I got a LT1 Z28 catback in which it was one WHOLE pipe that went from the cat to the muffler

for the s-pipe do a search, you can use a 3" U bend from jegs (part number is around here somewhere) and have them cut it in half then flip one side over and weld back together, and wala s-pipe [img]tongue.gif[/img]

s-pipe is the one right after the cat (right before the i-pipe). I've heard others say that it can be made from a u-pipe cut in half & welded(forgot place and price...someone?).

Sounds like a pretty good setup though. [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

how much did they charge you for the install?


even tho price doesnt matter all that much to me since the kids insurance is paying for it..

but how is the quality on the install?

Well if your gonna go through all that trouble why not just buy the system in the package and get the 3in. You figure 40bucks for a u pipe, like 100 bucks for an i pipe, about 90bucks for the muffler and then the tips would run you around 20-40 depending on what kind you get. Just get the system your already up to about 250+ anyway with just those parts. Plus you could get the 3in. The flowmasters are alright if thats your gig, i still think it gets raspy up top, i haven't heard the resonator one that is. But the older 3in catback system still gets raspy with the high flow cat. I think the catco is a cheap cat and I wouldn't put another one on my car. I'd get with randomtech or carsound for the extra cash but if you do get the catco don't get the 6007, it has an airtube that you don't need, it's for old carbuerated cars, get the 6907. And goodluck.

but i just wish someone would already get a SOUNDCLIP OF THE LOUDMOUTH! because i was thinking about gett'n that instead.

would 3 in. be better instead of 2.75?

go to LS1.com in the V6 section. Search for a topic by James (12secv6) about the loudmouth going down the track or something like that. To me it sounds like a biplane going down the track.

Prospect Muffler did an EXCELLENT job with mine and for parts/labor it was $170 HOWEVER they did screw it up the first time by damaging the O2 sensor after the cat. They offered to pay for the repair (which gets a [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] in my book) but since I was under warranty I had it fixed at the dealership (yes they repaired something I modified [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) Other than that they did an excellent job...however they usually charge higher than most places. Almost every F-body owner will vouch for them in So. Florida.
