• Guaranteed Performance?:

I wouldn't want to bash a site sponsor but:

    http://www.tbyrnemotorsports.com/v6/exhaust.html

Check the picture for the SLP exhaust tips... how does etching the name "guarantee performance" ?

hahaha, etching on tips adds horsepower?

Sure does. See, the places where the metal is "etched" out with the logo takes some weight (about the weight of a thimble, at best) off the exhaust, which makes the exhaust lighter and also makes your car faster...... LOL

It's not just tbyrne, I've seen that in other ads too. It's just a marketing gimmick that SLP uses to associate their name with high quality products in the minds of potential customers.

I don't know about their exhaust products, but I have their SFC's, manual fan switch, and STB, and I would say their products back up their claims pretty well. But you're right, that one is a little cheesy......

        No No..

The etching actually creates a small vortex of turbulence right behind the exhaust tips which causes a small area of low pressure. Low pressure behind the car equals r-x+44/7s+x(7-4)... this translates to faster forward flight on the F-18 Hornet anyway.. they have the "SLP" logo engraved on the tailpipe too!!

        Doh...

It's just marketing... most people equate SLP with fast, and they're just building off that.
