my exhaust guy convinced me to do a semi custom exhaust set up, with full 3 inch piping,(i will keep the stock cat. the piping will prob be from cat-back), and a magnaflow muffler. however, i know that magnaflow has probably the best flowing muffler on the market, but what about borla? don't the have a good muffler too? borla sounds great i know, i've heard the system on another v-6, but im not going to shell out the cash for the whole thing. will i get that sound with just the muffler and my piping? what abut the magnaflow sound? i think i'll be happy with either, but what i'm really looking for is which flows the best therefore creating more power?? only other mods are a lid, filter and t-stat. ill have the FTRA soon. i know this is beaten to death, but i'm not going to lose too much low end torque with the 3 inch piping right  thanks guys

If you're worried about $$$, get the magnaflow. But get an electric cut-out put on just before the cat. That's basically why the borla flows better, it's adjustable to it can be used as a cut-out.Eclipse 8443, CDT ES-620s in doors (Clarion APX401.2), IEK, CDT 6X in rear(HU), Image Dynamics ID10v.3D.4 in stealthbox(Clarion DPX1001.2)
http://www.sounddomain.com/id/larryfirebird33
borla cat-back, FTRA, whisper lid

i have the magnaflow and it sounds pretty nice and i could feel a gain after it was on. It also looks nice with the 3.5" chrome tips and chrome muffler.1997 Camaro
17x9 Chrome SS wheels, SLP CAI, Magnaflow Catback,
High Flow Cat, Blacked out Lights, 20% tint, AUDIO: 1600W Kenwood eXcelon Amp, 12\" Kicker L7, 1 Farad Cap (Recently STOLEN),
H&R Springs and KYB AGX\'s,
Billet Grille

I have a magna muffler and that was the first thing I put in. And compared to the V6's in my area I think mine sounds pretty good. I've heard the ones around my block and it sounds crappy, but there is one that sounded dope.
I am installing my mid-tube pacesetter headers and high flow cat this weekened. most tell me that once I install those the sound to my muffler will sound better, deeper and a little meaner.
I think you should go with the magna muffler, but if you want I saw a borla muffler on ebay going for $180. Not sure if its still there but wont hurt to do a search.www.dontforgettotakeyourvitamins .com

I Have the Borla pro XS model# 40474 I cant imagine having any back pressure with it. heck you can look right through it. sounds really good too if anything it is a little to Quiet for me. I hope that changes when I get some headers and a hi flo cat. I got it off ebay for 119 dollars new.

You don't need a cutout with the magnaflow it flows beter than the pipes. The magnaflow is basicly a big glaspack . Mine is 3"in then splits into dual 3" inside straight threw with no curves inside you can look straight threw it.
Also anybody that says that the magnaflow system is quiet your full of crap I ran a open y for a few days and my magnaflow is almost as loud.Black 2000 Y87 Camaro with T-tops ,SLP bowtie grill, Suncoast Creations Ram air hood and air box,Hypertech pp3,magnaflow cat back, and hi flow cat. http://members.cardomain.com/sorn09
