I got out of my car a few days ago and noticed a funny smell... It smells kinda like baked brown sugar (go ahead, laugh ) I have no idea what it is, I have never smelt something like that coming from a car. What the heck is it? And how can I get rid of it?

LOL, true. My little sister said it smelt like cookies. I'm just worried about it being a problem, like some kind of leak.

did you leave any dough on your engine block?

        I've done that before.

LOL, how the... nevermind. No, nothing was left on the engine block. My first thought was that someone put sugar in my gas tank... brown sugar... LOL.

Its gotta be your coolant. Thats the only thing that I can think of that smells sweet. I would check all of your hoses for leaks.

I just had Don's flush out the coolant and refill it. So far I havent smelt it. They said all the hoses were fine. Thanks for all the advice.

If you start smelling it again, check to make sure it's not coming from your exhaust. Could have a cracked head gasket or something, allowing coolant to leak into one of your cylinders. Hope that's not the case, but if so test the compression in each cylinder to see if anything out of the ordinary shows up.
