i just like a car to look like its supposed to, like if you have true dual exhaust, then you should be allowed to have either 1 - 2 exhaust tips PER muffler, as i only have one muffler, so not i dont want the other side of the exhatust, because thats not what i have, you know what i mean, i think the equation should be, 1 to 2 exhaust tips per muffler, as in if i have true dual exhaust i would get only one exhaust tip, i dont like to show off what i dont have, making it look like i have true dual looks bad to me, and if it has that look, i want to HAVE tru dual exhaust, not have a Y-Pipe and have two sets of exhatust tips pointin out, you know¿

I will disagree. True duals with an X-pipe crossover would sound nice on our cars IMO. I have heard it on numerous F-bodies, with varying levels of modifications done. They have always sounded cleaner than the Y-pipe setup so far! As far as weight, it's no big difference that cannot be compensated for elsewhere very easily. It's not an issue of back-pressure needs, it's about sound and mid-range torque! The uneven length of the Y-pipes on our cars creates alot of the raspiness you hear. So I say go for it! If there was a bolt-on kit available for our cars with an X-pipe system included, I'd be the first person to buy it! Just my $.02

Matt,
Is TPS selling Kevin's X pipe system?

After you suggested a TSP Rumbler, I was actually thinking if I were to change mine up, I'd try and put that on there. I don't think it would make it any quieter though. It wouldn't be too huge of a task to adapt that for a V6 with headers would it?

I did it and it's worth it. I've got True duals into a custom flanged H-pipe( I may be changing that), into 2 Moroso Spiral flows. It's loud and not as raspy, you have to expect some rasp out of a V6 though, it'll sound much better when I get the headers installed. I got the exhaust done for under $300 install as stated earlier.

custom true duals here. love the sound and how easy it is to bark 2nd gear. only thing i dont like is that both tips exit the same side.

Kendall, yes, we are going to sel the true dual X-pipe system for the LS1 cars. Only thing keeping us V6 guys from running it is that we have no long-tubes to bring the collectors down to the right level.

You'd like the Rumbler over your American Thunder kit! It will be about the same volume, less rasp I think, and more performance:)

I am working on developing an X-pipe system for the 3.8 that will use the existing manifolds. It will be 2 1/4 inch pipe. The only problem is, once i have it fully developed, I am worried that my design will be stolen, so I may not post any pics or specific details about it, if I decide to market it.
