gutted cat? anyone ever done?

It's a federal offense to gut your cat and being that you guys are posting what you did....good luck not getting caught by the smog police on here [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img] Hope you have an extra $10,000 lying around, cuz that's what the fine is! [img]graemlins/banana.gif[/img] For the little bit of gain, it's not worth it. Those of you thinking about it...get a high flow instead. Those of you braggin that you did...well... :D

I agree with ted on this one. Ted dont get bent out of shape because you feel one way, and someone happens to disagree. Its not unknown that everyone in america has different views. But I agree with your cat speech. He is 100% correct that it puts out like 10 times the emmissions. Cats are actually not as restrictive these days compared to those of old. The old V8's had LONG restrictive @ss cats, and these days there getting a little better. You say that the trees will just filter it out. Ok trees breathe CO2. Not CO (Carbon Monoxide) or NOx (Very harmful chemicals). And with as many cars as there are on the road, the trees are having a hard time keeping it up as it is. When I found out about the harm of cars without cats/gutted cats, I decided I will put two on mine. This makes since in both ways.

1. You are not shoving 6 cylinders or exhaust through 1 cat, so less restrictive.

2. One cat doesnt have to do the work of 6 cylinders. Just 3, so it works easier and more effeiciently.

So there you go, more horsepower, and less emmisions. Just remember the enviornment, and dont forget about it for a tenth in the quarter. ;)
