Okay, that sucks and all, but is there any other alternative to buying the 200 dollar set up from slp, is it really that much better? I mean my perception is that the filter, and the removal of the stock restraint gives the true performance upgrade. Am I sadly mistaken, or underestamating SLP?

You are not gaining a whole lot of power with a CAI to begin with. 5hp max, and that is when you are moving pretty quick down the road already. You may be making an extra pony, but for the price difference I don't think it is worth it. $10 for a tube and $40 for a K&N and you're making basically the same upgrade for 1/4 of the price. I bought this same CAI awhile back (back when he sold them for cheaper). It's an alright cold air intake. I had problems with it at first because the dude never sent me any installation instructions and I was thinking it was gonna replace my current stock setup completely, but it only replaces the airbox itself. You attach it where the airbox is now and it extends down from there.
I got pictures that I have been meaning to upload for awhile, I'll upload them later tonight and show you. It's a decent setup for the money.
Thanks Ike Bruh, I'll check them out lata and decide on either creating one, buying a cheaperono or saying Fugg it and spend the real money on the one LMP has, the G2. I'll wait on your post before I make any moves. Thanks

I have one from that guy for my 3.4L. It is better than stock. Noticed a little improvement. It is nice and shiny for local car shows and stuff like that. Price is up though, I got mine for like $40 +shipping.

If you have two sets of hands not very long even if it is the first time you've done it. less than 2 to take the stocker off. 15 at the most to put the new one on. In front of the left front tire there is a little compartment you will need to take off to put the filter on. You will need something to lift the front end up. I parked on two bricks under the left front tire. I believe the you will need either a 9mm or 10mm driver to get the cover off. And if the wind is blowing don't drive with the cover off. Crazy stuff if you do. You will be all over the road.
Sorry, I don't have any pics. I think it took like two weeks to ship.

Mine took a decade to arrive it seemed. And if you email the guy, expect a good 48 hours for a response.
Installation was simple once I figured out what I had to do. I drove the car up on my ramps to raise the front end. I removed the cover that's directly below where the airbox is. I then removed the airbox and replaced it with the tubing and tightened it up. My hose clamp was not clamping very good, I could tell I needed a new one, so I tied the sucker in tight with some cord as a safety measure. Pic
(You'll also notice I haven't yet moved my sensor down there yet, instead, I taped the hole for now.
I am thinking about shortening it so the air filter doesn't hang down quite as low. Otherwise, it will probably scrap occassionally and I will need to remove part of the air dam that sits right in front of the filter.
I can notice some gain after installing it, and it adds a nice sound to the engine.
These aren't all the pictures I took, but these are all I have online at the moment. I can get the other pictures later if you like
That doesn’t look right man. Mine didn't hang that low. I put the cover back on when I was finished. It was also in two pieces. There should have been a pipe included that ran from the elbow to original intake spot then another pipe that ran down through the hole. I bet you are sucking water in the motor when it rains.
