Is it a good idea to remove the MAF screen?

Not if you don't know what you're doing! The screen on the mass air flow (MAF) sensor exists to reduce turbulence and create laminar air flow. Turbulent air doesn't mix with fuel as well. Removing the screen will also cause your MAF sensor to report incorrect data and impact your driveability. Unless you are changing heads, cam, etc. you should probably leave the MAF screen alone.

I removed my maf screen 4 mounth ago...don't see any difference

I've had mine out for a long time with no problems.Most of the turbulant air comes from the baffles inside the airbox lid. Replace the lid or file them down.

i keep finding this yellow junk on the outsides of my exhaust tips, think it might either be MAF screen makin it run rich or cat clogging, probably from the maf screen, but i can't find it... any of you 99+ guys wanna sell yours? also, am i right or wrong? and see, look what it can do if you take it out of your 98-... uncool, wish i hadn't

hey man, you can have mine for free as long as u pay shippin, i dont need it but it kinda has a lil crack it it. it would be better than nothing and lots cheaper than a new one. ...yeah anyways you can have it if yah want
