• On a Highschool budget

Probably a pretty typical situation here, but Im working on a $6/hr budget, and I'm going to make exhaust my first mod. I'd like to do it in pieces, regardless of a whole cat-back probably being cheaper in the long run. Just one piece at a time..somewhat custom, rather than a kit. What muffler will give me the most agressive (scary if possible) tone on stock pipes (until I get an over pipe and I-pipe, etc.)? I appreciate the help as always. Thanks.

Anyone heard a Ravin on an f-body? The Z-33 series with 2 1/4 in, dual 2 1/4 out would work. Order some tips and that'd be that. If these sound good they seem like a good deal as well. My only other thought was a Flowmaster 80, that just seemed so typical though, might be nice to have something different. Even though most people would say get an entire catback, because it will get better performance. Just need some better`tone not many performance mods.

really dude, go on ebay. There was an slp loudmouth sytem on there with borla tips for like $229. There is no reason to do it in peices, just get a used system off ebay and you wont think twice about it.

scary sound? ... dont use a muffler at all, just run a pipe exiting the rear of the car

or you can just get a cut out so you can switch back and forth between obnoxiously loud and quiet

I don't think you should do it in pieces either...just find a good cat-back cheap. They're out there...you just need to find them.

i wouldnt get a raven. my car had raven dual exhaust before i got it, and it sounds alot better now with the flowmaster. also, the exhaust pipe was noticeably longer on the drivers side, i have no idea why.

sometimes the tips arent welded on evenly. my left tip is about a 1/2" further back that the right one.

Just go to Meineke and spend the $110 and have them install the Flowmaster muffler, dual exhaust and chrome tips. Thats all I had to pay when I had it done. Not mandrel bent but you can do that later on.

i have a z55 ravin muffler with 3" carsounds cat, 3" piping, and 3.5" tips... personally, i think it sounds pretty good. upper rpms arent very good, but i personally have yet to hear a v6 fbody that has a really good sounding top end. ive been mistaken for a v8 numerous times when cruising by or idle, it really does sound pretty mean
