Thats more like backwards exhaust in my opinion. You opened up the beginning of the exhaust flow only to make it equally restricted in the back.
Also about the larger pipe comment that isn't always true. A 2.5" exhaust with a very well designed muffler and a 3" exhaust with a restrictive muffler would differ in performance incredibly. Ei: Buying a real exhaust and buying something you found at autozone for $30.

I'm sorry, last I knew V6 cars did NOT come with the Z28 muffler. So doesn't that make it an aftermarket/modified muffler? Almost every muffler is restrictive, so don't throw that out there. And as for my exhaust pipe comment, the only reason I posted it was because if he is still running the stock piping then he doesn't have a FULL exhaust--but if he has larger/aftermarket pipes then he DOES have a full exhaust. Don't tell me that just because it is "restrictive" or from an upgraded model doesn't mean its modified/aftermarket...Shoot, if that were the case the LT4 I have going in my car isn't an upgrade...because you could get it as an option/upgrade!
