  • Difference between Z28 and SS I-pipes?

Is there a diffenced between Z28/Formula/TA I-pipes and SS/WS6 I-pipes? I've read that the SS/WS6 pipes are mandrel bent and flow better. Can anyone confirm this?

I don't know whether they are mandrel bent but I do know that an SS pipe is 3" in diameter while the Z28 pipe is only 2.75"

Actually, I seem to remember someone saying they were both 2.75"...

Assuming SLP upgraded the exhaust on the SS (which they do), it is 3".

If they left the stock Z28 exhaust.. well, then... there ya go.

ALL LS1 I pipes are 2.75" in diameter. The only difference is in the mufflers.

Now Scott, don't be spreading lies and evil propaganda.

After my mom had a loudmouth installed on her SS, I took her exhaust - everything including I-Pipe and back. And yes, the I-Pipe IS 3".

Here is the exhaust system that came from the factory on it:

Cale got the optional Dual/Dual exhaust that is available on the SS and firehawk. The stock/base SS/WS6/Firehawk catback has a 2.75 inch i-pipe.

It does flow well and sound good from what I hear.

Thanks, that cleared things up. I was J/W because I want to do an I-pipe/S-pipe/Catco thing eventually.
