• Replacement for Flowmaster....

I don't like the way my Flowmaster 80 series muffler sounds. The ricey sound about 3k is annoying. What muffler won't make a ricey above 3k and will replace my 80 series???

I had the 80 series and threw it away. I cut off my cat and had a 40 series welded into the location the cat used to be. It sounds WAAAY better!!

Well in Jan. when Ohio changes it's E-Check laws i'll be getting rid of my cat for a cut out. The problem with the muffler though is I want dual tips but without the rice.

do you only have a muffler? full exhaust and a cat would help. it will always sound like a 6 though, cause thats what it is. a 6. not an 8

Other mufflers that sounds awesome are:

B&B TriFlow
Ravin Mufflers
Spintech

You need a highflow cat and bigger pipes though to get the best sound out of them.

If you look at my sig. I have Pacesetter headers, 3" high flow cat, and 3" flowmaster cat back. I just want to replace the ricey muffler.

Where can buy the mufflers you recommened??

You cant replace Flowmaster. Flowmaster sound....often immatated, never duplicated. i have dual out-lets on my 40series and it sounds almost like a Z28, under 3k ofcourse. SLP cai helps the sound too a little. Flowmaster

Its above 3k is where I don't like it. I sound like a civic or someother piece of rice. thats what I want to get rid of. I have cold air intake, headers high flow cat, and 3" cat back but yet there is still rice.

It's a fact us V6 owners are gonna hafta face, a 6 will have some rice almost always. Some people say they don't have any rice, but its all a matter of interpretation. Im just glad we don't have four cylinders. We got motors with balls, they'll put a lot of cars to shame, we just don't have an 8 thats all. The best way to minimize rice is to stay stock, if you want performance you're gonna hafta deal with some "rice" - American made rice anyway :).

I can't believe no one has suggested Magnaflow, or Borla. I like the sound of both of them, and they flow among the best. Though I'd like to try a Corsa and see how it sounds on a 6 the tips are killer..
