• i hate my headers

you know, i really ****in regret these headers now, ive driven maybe.... 30 miles with the headers on, so far, burned up wire, fixed. leak in the egr hose needs brass o-ring so ill get one, then today, on the way home from work, it decides it wants to run like **** again. no SES light, seems to run fine if i drive it like im a girl, but when i tried to get on it, even alittle bit, i hear a ticking, and lose of horsepower, lets say.... climbing up on the rpm its like, every few houndred it cuts off for a sec like im missing or somthin, but no SES light its all good, so what is it, is it just that leak in the egr hose? maybe it got bigger? please guys, im gettin very mad with this ****, im about to put my stock ones back on, thanks guys

have you tightened the header bolts yet? They need to be tightened constantly until the gaskets stop changing.

headers are def. a pain in the butt

keep checking the wires. Everytime my car started running like **** i would check my wires and sure enough there would be a nice crack in the wire. I dont fully understand whats wrong with your EGR tho. Is it the hose that has a leak or is it the connection to the header that is leaking?

if it is a ticking that goes up with the RPM it is most likely an exhaust leak. IF you got pacesetters and used the gaskets that come with them, they're absolute crap.

And you only have to tighten them with short crappy bolts

They also do produce a little more heat, so you will have to insure that your wires are getting too hot. Get a wrap or fiberglass cover for them. I have yet to lose a wire because I have these fiberglass covers that extend about 10" from the boot to block heat

Not sure if you're talking about the ones for the 3.4, but the gaskets that come with the headers for the 3.8 are not bad at all. They're the best ones out there for them. I'd use the pacesetter gaskets over anything else. ;)

its my egr hose, im sure of it
, it has a leak from where it connects to the headers, the bushing isnt sealing it to good, so im gonna try a diferent o ring instead

I ditched the crap pacesetter gaskets and went with the multi layer steel ones from NAPA. I have never had an exhaust leak, and haven't needed to retighten them once yet.
