• Stock SS muffler review

I found a good deal on an entire 02 SS catback so even though I already had a Dynomax muffler I went ahead and bought the whole thing. I sold the muffler and tips to my little brother and I'm putting the I-pipe on my car. Anyway he had it put on his 98 bird and I just drove it and man it makes a huge difference. I could not believe how much better it made it sound. I still can't decide if I like it better than my Dynomax or not. His is definitely deeper, but much quiter, that's my only complaint. But if you want a v8ish sound (obviously not that good, but a good throaty sound) but not a loud obnoxious exhaust, I'd definitely recomend a stock v8 muffler, It makes the car sound 100x better, and you can get them hella cheap

The SS/WS6 exhaust was a pretty good flowing piece out of the factory.

Then why does my nearly new Z28 catback sound like crap? I swear everyone that has just put on a Z28 or SS catback says how good they sound, but mine does not sound good at all. Either I must have a bad catback, or they must take forever to start sounding better. Anyways, enough ranting. I do hope you enjoy your new catback.

How did you make the 2.75 connect to the 2.25"?

I have a TA setup in my basement and noone could figure out how to make it work, they dont make adapters for that size.

An Exhaust/Muffler Shop can't make an adapter for that?

Hey whiteshark, about how loud is it?
Like slightly louder than stock V6?
My V6 came from the factory with the Dual-Outlet Muffler. Did your brothers?

Any exhaust shop can do it very easily.

It's definitely louder than stock, but not as loud as my dynomax. And his didn't come with the duals from factory, so I don't know how much difference there would be.
