  • American Thunder Resonator

I was watching high rev tuners (or something like that) and they put Flowmasters American Thunder exhuast on. They had a resonator in place of the cat. So i went to Flowmaster and they had no adverticement of the resonator. I already have the 80 series muffler and id like to have the resonator. Do any of you guys know any info on this?

It did not replace the cat. The Resonator was on the I-Pipe. It is Flowmaster's new Cat-Back for the 3.8 Firebird/Camaro. (98-02)

Can you buy the resonator without the exhaust system?

It is one piece it is welded (I think) on the I-pipe

          Look at this

Your best bet is to buy the system, then sell your muffler.

[Edit] Oh, I just read your profile, and you have a 3.4, the fitment should be the same. Ask a 3.4 owner who's installed a 3.8 System, or vice-versa. I'm fairly ceartin your good!

You would have to call flowmaster and ask them if you can buy it by itself.

I ordered the resonator from FLOWMASTRE.COM they said it was part of the kit and at first they hesitated but after insistingfor a while he gave it to me for $46.95 and yes the one in the pic.(T-shape). he said it will help with the raspyness and the droning interior sound.

Because the 3" is made for the V8 NOT V6.
                      V8's don't need resonators.
