I had the tube on the header welded closed.

Combine that with a blockoff plate on the intake manifold and an EGR sim and you're set.

All you really need to do is have the tube welded closed. You can leave the EGR on there and just have it suck in fresh air. Removing the valve will cause an SES unless you get a sim or disable it.

But with you being from California, I'd be careful. ;)

so easiest is to just weld a plate on it , leave the hose, so basically i dont have to pay for anything right? other then the welding part, will i get an SES light?

Just have the tube on the header welded closed, then unhook the pipe going into the EGR. That'll let the valve suck in fresh air, but continue to work as it normally would....meaning no SES.
