i want to seal up the egr hose, where it comes off the headers, connecting to the hose, i have a leak and cant get it sealed, so i want to just get rid of it cus im already prolly not gonna pass smog. how do i just seal it up, and will i get a code if i do that?

I had the tube on the header welded closed.
Combine that with a blockoff plate on the intake manifold and an EGR sim and you're set.
All you really need to do is have the tube welded closed. You can leave the EGR on there and just have it suck in fresh air. Removing the valve will cause an SES unless you get a sim or disable it.
But with you being from California, I'd be careful. ;)Matt

Just have the tube on the header welded closed, then unhook the pipe going into the EGR. That'll let the valve suck in fresh air, but continue to work as it normally would....meaning no SES.Matt
