I wouldn't think it would, your just letting more air get to the stock lid and everything.

I coudl see a dealer voiding a warranty for it...
just do what I did, pick up a full lid setup for like $15, mod it out, and keep your stocker stock if you ever want to take your car in for warranty stuff.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

It obviously would void the warranty for the air filter tray. ;)
It wouldn't. If it did, so would a k&n filter. Go for it, plus an f-body still under warranty? 3 years has passed nearly.-1999 Camaro Coupe 3800 Series II V6 A4 - SOLD
-1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP coupe

then again I have heard cars void the warranty only mod being a drop in K&N filter...
if you want to you can probably lead one component of the car, "as causing the problem" to make anotehr component go out.
And dealers could do it to save money.
whats $15 if you find a guy with a 98+ parting his car out.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

doing something that simple usually will get you by but if they want to be asses and you have like any problem that they can connect to the intake system, they will void it because you changed it.
