Ok so I put my new exhaust system on about a month ago and now the pipe that goes over the axle is hitting a metal piece down there. I tried to adjust it but to make a long story short, its just not gonna stop hitting. Well my question is this, I bought some nylon wire ties to suspend the pipe up a little and the package says they are rated to withstand 185 degrees. I know the pipes get hotter in different areas so how's that looking? Do you think it will melt or anything? Thanks.

i dont see why your having problems, thousands of us have aftermarket systems and custom systems and ours dont hit. just take it to an exhaust shop and have it lifted correctly.

I think the problem is that when I put it on I didnt fit the pipe over the axel properly, and now that I have driven with it on there so long, the pipes have heated themselves together. I could barely get the clamp loose let alone reposition the pipe.
Those hose clamps or tbolt clamps or whatever is actually a good idea, otherwise I guess I will take it to the shop.1999 Firebird
