  • fixed rksport header leak

I finally found a combnination that finally fixed my 3.8 rksport header leaks. I used OEM gaskets for the headers with locking bolts. Also for the header to Y-pipe connection I used copper gaskets. The part number for the copper gaskets is SCE4225 at summit. I hope this helps other people who have the same problem of the gaskets blowing out all the time.

i have pacesetter headers and do they come with the gaskets for the y-pipe? Or will those ones work that you have listed? Because i think im getting a leak from there and the bolts on flange keep coming loose.

can't you also weld the y-pipe there instead of installing another gasket??

Yeah welding the pipes would be a pain if you want to pull the motor.. Plus its ceramic coated and I think you have to grind that stuff off at the collector and weld the pipe on and then coat it again.. But yeah those gaskets are bad a$$.. Best flow yet on my headers.. No leaks at all.. Hopefully it will last.. This should be a sticky for all the Rksport header people..

yes they work great...ive had them for awhile and they have been working great. The last resort would be using 2.5 inch V clamps if you didnt want to weld.

How did you guys use the SCE4225 collector gaskets from Summitracing.com with 2.25 in Diameter, dont we need 3" on the pacesetter y-pipe?

do you all like your rksports? i know theyre a little bigger than the pacesetters so i was wanting rksports. especially if they were LTs.
pacesetters coming out with LTs for 2k2s?

Well the Rksport headers are really nice if you can keep them from leaking. Just make sure you get those gaskets for the header/y pipe connection. I had a lot of problems with the gaskets from the header to the block. I used OEM gaskets plus locking bolts. I dont know if anyone else has tried that set up its the only on that worked for me. The rks are not LTs. Yeah I saw that post the other day....I hope its true.
