After reading 15 pages of Cat-Back vs Cat-back threads, I've narrowed my choices down to Hooker and Edelbrock. After all the reading, I've come to the conclusions that all catback's are better than stock, performance wise, and sound is subjective except for the part that above 3500 RPM, a V6 is gonna sound like a V6.

Anyway to my question, do resonated tips(specifically Hooker, PN 520-21430 jegs.com) affect the sound at all? I want a pretty mellow exhaust so if they mellow out the tone more then I'll probably buy them. I think they look sweet too.

Just get the whole hooker catback. I used to have one and loved it. Really pretty quiet when at idle, but you definitly tell it was there when you were on the gas!

Hmmm sounds like they are chrome plated.

Anything in the exhaust path has the potential to affect the sound but the muffler is the most important component.
