You should do a glasspack muffler instead. It will take out the rasp some and it won't sound as bad. I would imagine most shops would do it for cash.

I put a straight pipe in where the cat goes and the shop did it for 20 cash no recipt. i would imagine any shop that wasn't a big chain and just a little hole in the wall would do that for you.

When you said straight pipe I thought you ment no cat or muffler.

I run Pacesetter Headers and a 3" pipe through my cat. It then goes through a 3" cutout (for the track) to a flowmaster w/ duel tips.

I love the way it sounds. However, for a daily drive, it is very loud even with the cutout closed. I have an agressive cam so the car loops and has a very rough idle. Sitting at a stop light, I get a lot of looks (not all of them friendly).

Maybe I can post a sound clip. I will see what I can do.

so you have a straight pipe in place of a cat then a cutout to a flowmaster muffler?

Keep the cat, just get a cutout. I guess you are trying to make it loud?

good luck trying to find a shop to do it. you are talking major fines if they got caught. i found one place that would do it to my car but it looked pretty shaded and i didnt trust them welding on my baby. just get a high flow cat or weld in a glass pack if your set on not running a cat.
