Can this be done..? weld the cutout @ the piece of straight pipe? Also i dont know a lot about these things..

How do you switch from open exhaust to the muffer.. is it a switch or what?

yes you can. As far as the switch goes, there are electric cutouts that do that or you can get a cheaper manual one and crawl under the car and unbolt it

i really dont understand though.. im looking at one that bolts off.. and if that part of the pipe was open.. it would still make the pipe that goes to the muffler open.. and air would be going through both?

        how does that sound?

(screw the eletric cutout, my lazy *** will get down and open / close it myself for 300$ more.. rofl)

yes, air goes through both, but most of it dumps out the cutout. if i were u i would just buy the cutout($35), install it right after the cat, about under the passenger seat area, thats where mine is and i love it, cheap and sounds good

Best place to put the cutout after having 3 installed is right before the i-pipe bends up and over the axle, then its shooting right out of the back and more air goes out the cutout.

^ same with me..and i bypass the muffler..so the whole exhaust is completely hollow..its never set a code or anything..but since we have emissions testing now i may have to replace the cat..in that case..im just going to put a cut-out right after the y-pipe

Cutouts are loud, I miss mine but I wouldn't put one on the cav. You can put them anywhere really, mine was right before the over axle pipe.

yea thats what i will do, put it where my cat should be, since thats the only 3" piping i have :/ I really would like an eletric one.. but 35$ and getting my lazy *** under the car sounds better then 366$ ;)

I wonder what headers and a cutout right after them sounds like.. any clips?
