hey, sorry to hijack this but i got a quick question for ya... those pacesetters you got, do they have a 2 piece y pipe and howd the y pipe fit? I've been seeing that people have had to modify that pipe so the header flanges line up. I'm bout to do the same swap on my car... kinda hoping it goes better than what you had to go through. Howd it ever turn out for ya?

        yeah i got the 2 piece y.
im gonna put it on tomorrow so ill let u know if it fits.

        alright heres the update:
        i got both headers on!!!
but here are the problems that need to be addressed:
on the driver's side i took off part of the oil sending unit and the oil filter to gain access to the bolts. i took off the part that is surrounded in that rubber heat protective boot. when i took it out, there was a small metal clip on the otherpart of the sending unit that held the rubber part on. i cannot for the life of me figure out how that goes back on! if someone has had it pulled apart before i would like to know how you put it back together.

also in the passenger side, there is a pipe that threaded into the stock manifold right beside the EGR. it took a 7/8 wrench to get it off. i took it out and after i put the new header on, there is only a place for the EGR and the O2 sensor. what am i supposed to do with this pipe? is it important? if not i am just going to cap it off and run it like that.

it shows that you have the EGR bolted to the header but not that pipe. what did you end up doing with it?

I believe that pipe you're having problems with is the Air pump, my car has it too, and i just cut the pipe and capped it...lol,

            ITS FINALLY OVER!!!!
            i finished the install tonight!
            replaced oil sending unit
but still need to get a cap for that air pump pipe.
i took it for a drive to let the bolts get a nice heat cycle. It is LOUD lol! the car even has a lope to its idle now and it sounds good. im gonna tighten down all the bolts again tomorrow. and as of now, there are NO leaks! (knock on wood) also the 2-piece y-pipe fit fine.

it was well worth all the time, effort, and headaches to put these things on. i would still throughout all the issues recommend this to another 3.4 guy if he has plenty of patience. if not, have a shop do it, but be prepared to pay out the a** to have it done. i probably put in around 20 hours total. maybe im just slow, but if you multiply that by the average $60-$70/hour mechanic rates and... i guess it really pays to work on cars yourselves!
