3 inch collectors would be huge, even a full 3 inch y pipe is big, the only 3 inch part of the pacesetter ones are where the two pipes merge together on the y pipe.\'99 SSM Camaro V6 M5
(mod list on cardomain site; too long to list here)
http://www.cardomain.com/id/v6cam99

yea... there is no replacement for displacement...
3" exhaust is all good and well, I run a full 3" setup. Mine is just the Pacesetter 3" Y to the TSP Rumbler, and that rund and sounds great. Anything bigger and I'd seriously be loosing backpressure and low end torque. I think the Pacesetters are a better header for the $$, but they all have issues and drawbacks. You might want to replace the cat with a cutout for track and loudness, then run a good catback system from there. Nitrous is there to gain back the tq that I loose from backpressure.. My RKsport headers have a 2 1/4 collector with a 2 1/4 y-pipe.. That is too small for me and besides they leak most of the time too.. I want to weld in a ball flange like the pacesetters have with a 2 1/2 collector and make a 2 1/2 inch Y- pipe.. I dont see how you loose tq from going to 3 inch pipes.. I dynoed with a 2 3/4 inch cat back and put down 176rwhp and 210rwtq and when I put in my 3inch cat back and 3 1/2 inch tips I dynoed 180rwhp and 215 rwtq.. And I also gained hp and tq throughout my power band..Jeff ..
