I have to say i was really disappointed in that clip. I read Borla and headers and thought, damn this should be good..i had to freakin turn the speakers up so loud u heard the high pitch ringing noise and still i swear the car never made it over 2K..FAIL big time..don't blame the camera or neighbors,, if they ***** say boohoo, move then if u don't like it. definently needs a REDO.

                    Re: Exhaust sound clips!

yeah just too much other street noise, take her somewhere secluded and get some walkaround idle vids from the back, and do some revs and driveby's. should sound much better.

                        Re: Exhaust sound clips!

Maybe too much sound echo under the building. The cars sounds good, I just could not here the exhaust very well. Try it again but at the back of the car.

                                Re: Exhaust sound clips!

Finally finished the 3" exhaust; have to say I'm surprised that there wasn't much difference in sound from the stock 2-1/4" system with the Aerochamber muffler. I now have a home made "resonator" in place of the cat (3" perforated pipe running through the cat shell), 3" exhaust back to the Aerochamber muffler (3" I/O - single out), and a cheapie Autozone silencer tip. The tip takes it from 3" to 2-3/4", and has the perforated inner tube with a bit of sound absorbing material, but I don't see where it does much of anything. Anyway, here is a clip of the completed system. I added a couple of no-load revs at the beginning just to see if there was a difference; notice the slight rasp when free-reving that isn't there under load - something to think about when listening to other clips...

Next up, I just picked up a couple of Hooker Max Flow mufflers on ebay, also 3" I/O. I'm going to put one of those on the car and see how much difference they make in sound level. Then it's off to the dyno to see how the new system performs with each muffler.
