I know the Pacesetters can be installed with the existing exhaust system and I was wondering if anyone has done it like that? I have the money right now for the headers and I know it takes a few weeks to get them but it also says might need to fabricate to get it to hook up with the stock system. I'll be getting a cat-back probably a week or two after I get the headers but I can install them myself so I was wondering what it might take to get it bolted to the stock system til I get the cat-back?

just wait till the cat back and then install them at the same time. Much easier than redoing it again to fit the cat back.
If you are having an exhaust shop do the cat back, then install the headers and leave them disconnected and run the car over to the exhaust shop for the cat back. It will be loud with open headers and ypipe, but just for a short drive to the exhaust shop wouldn't hurt anything.
I just don't see why you would wanna do one and then wait and redo the connection again later come the catback. Do it all at once my man. Make life easier on yourself.

Very true, you'd have to cut the stock ypipe, then fab the connection from the 2.5 inch pacesetter ypipe to the smaller stock cat. Are you adding a high flow cat when you install the catback?\'98 Camaro V6
Appearance... pleasing
Performance... just a little extra air.

Well I thought about running the open headers but the thing is I really wouldn't know how long it would take me to install them, plus I am going to be out of city limits at my girlfriends dad's shop to install them, so its a good 10-12 mile drive back in town I don't want to get busted running open headers

yea I guess it depends on if you are replacing the cat as well. If you are keeping the stock cat then you could connect it up to your stock exhaust cuz the cat back will go from your cat. on back.
