i'm in the final stages deciding which exhaust to get. I don't know whether to get the B&B or to go cheaper with something like a flowmaster amer thunder. If I want something cheaper than the B&B I would add a highflow cat. keep in note that eventually I will get a whisper lid and ram air. will i need to get a 3" or 2.5" system
any suggestions.

3" flowmaster exhaust. if you don't like how it sounds, add a resonator or resonated tips. save the cash and don't put the high flow cat on. Put it on when u do headers, and don't do headers till u do heads/cam. if u put the high flow cat on at the same time as the cat-back, u won't have much low-end torque.

headers help a good bit on a stock top end motor, dont mind this guy, and the cat sounds like a good idea w/ the catback, i'd add a resonator on the I-pipe if you dont like the popping you get dropping from revvs

I did my Cat on with the cat back and then a month later got the headers on.. I didnt notice a loss in torque with the cat and no headers then without the cat and no headers.. The high flow cat didnt give me no noticable power and if it did I will guess maybe 1-2 HP and 1-2 ftlbs.. The reason I got the Cat is because it gave my flowmaster a more throaty sound.. Get that setup and later add the headers and you will ove the way it sounds..

basically a highflow cat helps change the sound and has no performance value what so ever

Not to take away from your post man, but just find some guy who had a v8, and put on a performance exhaust, take his old exhaust and stick it on your six, it doesn't look bad, nor sound bad either, plus you get about 5-10 horse like you would with the b&b.
