I guess im making this too complicated. Can anyone whos installed the K&N on their 3.8 (and didnt use the rk sport package) just tell me what part they used to do it. I would like to some use a real manufactured part instead of doing a custom home depot setup. Can anyone give me part names or a part number from their own experience? Please help! I don't know if it will work on the K&N LT1 FIPK. It might since it is used by SLP and was recommended by other suppliers to adapt the LT1 CAIs to the 3800.

Look at the SLP 3800 CAI - it uses the 1LE:

dude there is no reason to use a 65 dollar 90 elbow. Your problem is that you do not have the hump hose or something to connect the fipk to a 90 elbow. GO get a 90 elbow at the hardware store take the fipk in with you and fit the pieces up look for some rubber boot deals in the plumbing area and see if it will fit over the fipk or inside it and use some clamps and clamp it to the 90 elbow. You can do this man but you dont need a 65 dollar part to do it.
