Question about exhaust tips.

I was wondering if there was a way to just get a nice little sound out of my existing exhaust. Do exhaust tips provide any kind of sound "improvment"? I'll be frank, I don't have the money to buy the catback and intake mods yet. But I just want a different sound. Anywho, I hope this makes sense. Thanks.

I changed the tips on my 2001 Grand Prix. (same engine as Camaro/Firebird).

Basically, I was just doing this for appearance only, but I did notice a difference in the exhaust note. A little deeper and slightly louder.

Some people would disagree, but it definitely sounds better.

BTW, just put the Magnaflow muffler (split into duals) on my V6-Firebird... WOW! Total cost $150 at a local exhaust shop.

I already had the stainless steel tips, so that wasn't part of the cost.

I love the Magnaflow!

if it is with a stock mufflers im not sure....but my brother changed tips and his z28 and they were a lot different...i would recommend just saving your money

I might look into that Magnaflow muffler, it sounds like a great idea Bill.

However, I know I should just save for the catback.
