  • just installed my new flowmaster catback...

I just installed my new American Thunder Flowmaster catback and I absolutely love it. After researching it in this forum, i thought it was going to be "ricey" and have a loud drone inside the car. I could only find a slight difference in sound while inside the car, and I think it sounds great outside the car both at idle and under acceleration. It was exactly what I was looking for. I would definately recommend it.

I'm happy with my 2'5 flowmaster catback.

Do you have a 2'5 or 3' one?

Since I don't plan on doing any major mods to my car, I went with the 2'5 inch piping. And yes, it does have the resonator attached to the i-pipe.

          hey stealth1281:
all i am looking to do is make my 2000 firebird a little deeper and louder than the stock dual exhauust(which doesnt make a sound). would you recomend this exhaust for me, or another one? the only mod i plan on doing is adding the fast toys ram air kit, or something like that. Also if you dont mind could you tell me the total cost u spent for your cat back(tax, shipping, everything) and where you got it.

          thanks

well, i'm really no expert and don't know a whole lot about domestic cars, with the camaro being my first. I used to have a 3000GT, Stealth, and a Probe.
Anyway, I would probably recommend the flowmaster for your bird. Like I said,
it has a nice, deep sound at idle and low rpms, and really seems to come alive in the upper rpms. it also feels like I gained some hp, but I don't think I gained 11 hp, like the flowmaster website says. Take it for what its worth, but I had a couple people ask if it's a z28.
I got my catback off of ebay brand new for $304 plus around $25 for shipping. I could have installed it for free myself, but I never had any time to do it, so I took it to a shop and got them to put it on and weld everything for around $60.

I hope this helps you in any way.

thanks a lot stealth. I'm glad that you are enjoying your new catback. It looks like I will be saving for a flowmaster American thunder.
