I have the stock 3" y-pipe and the stock 2.25" s-pipe to my 2.5" flowmaster catback. I understand that the stock cat is 3" in and 2.25" out. I'm looking for a magnaflow carsound cat with those dimensions, but I can't find one. I can only find ones with both 3", 2.5", 2.25" in/out. I plan on just having a muffler shop install it for me. Do you think if I just get a 2.5" in/out cat, they will be able to install it?

yes, they can install it. have them put a reducer on it from the y-pipe, then have them make you a 2.5" s-pipe.

most likely it wont be mandrel bent unless they have the means which most dont. i would recommend a 3" cat and just have them deal with sizing down from there

Im still waiting for the cat to come. I've been calling around the local muffler shops and asking them how much itll cost to get my cat installed, and appparantly i need to take my car in to get an estimate. Some say itll probly cost like $85 and another muffler shop even said $640(yes, six hundred and forty dollars). How much do you think is a reasonable price for getting my cat installed?

hey while your at it this is what i did, i have the same exhaust system as you. when you take it in to a shop(i did mitas) tell them that you want the cat welded on and then you can have them bend you a custom 3" s pipe and tell them to bipass the resinator(the little box between your muffler and cat, by rear pass side wheel) and to weld that to your exhaust.i have headers too and omg my car is loud as all mighty heck! plus you don't have as much air resistance! rock on

oh and fwiw i had mufflex flange my old cat, take my supplied cutout and weld that to one of their bullet mufflers and flange that setup as well so i could swap it in and out in place of the cat for $140...that included a few flanges, the $35 bullet muffler and an hour labor...if your just installing a cat it should cost you no more then $75-80 if they try to charge you any more tell them to bite you.

I'm been reading about the SES light being triggered because of high flow cats, and a way of getting rid of it is by getting an O2 sim. Can somebody explain to me what this is?

Plug the simulator into the O2 sensor connector and it tricks the computer into thinking everything's perfect.
