Ok, well I got the silencer removed and figured out how to connect the dryer duct to the original rubber piece behind the air box. Before I just had the sensor stuck in the dryer duct and so the SES light came on. So once I fixed that problem I went to autozone and had them scan it and remove the code. The code was the intake sensor had been disabled, who could have guessed. So I thought everything was peachy but no more than an hour later the SES came back on and has been on ever since. Why is this thing still on? Could it be because I don't have a good enough seal? It's not used to more air flow? I can't figure it out and it's buggin the crap out of me. I might stick the sensor in the back of the air box to see if that fixes it.

I'm very interested in the answer to this question. If the IAT sensor is very loose and has a lot of play will it hurt anything? I accidently broke the seal on mine in my ram air and my car is running horribly now. I don't know if it's because of all my other problems but I'm having tremendous overheating problems.

iat problems are not likely to cause overheating. are your cooling fans coming on? if your running bad and the fans aren't turning on i'm willing to bet you need to diagnose and repair your ECT sensor circuit.ASE Master, L1, X1, C1.
