    Need to temporary quiet my exhaust

    So, how can I do it cheap and easy? Basically, I am going to have to do a LOT of highway driving for the next 2 months, about 20,000miles worth, and I would like to quiet down the exhaust a little. It isn't too bad, at 75 I am at about... 2200rpms, but I would like to make it quieter. Any easy and cheap way to do it? Also, performance doesn't matter in the next 2 months, just how loud it is. Thanks!

        Get a Slowmaster 80 series. I forgot I had mine on most of the time. Whisper quiet!

          We used to have a 3 wheeler which had a small glasspack on it because we were too cheap to pay for a 3 wheeler muffler, sounded like a harley almost. We also used it for hunting though so my dad stuffed steel wool up the tail pipe and put some wire mesh on the end so it wouldn't blow out.

            Hmmmm....My "F"lowmaster 80 series gives me a headache when I go on roadies....I dont' know what in the hell you are talking about.

              i can hardly hear my flowmaster w/the cutout capped...its not too bad w/it open...maybe im just deaf??

                  PLEASE tell me you are kidding. The 80 series is lame as hell! I had mine for 3 months and then actually threw it away. It was the biggest waste of money ever!

                        what russel said. put some sound deadening in your trunk. that'll cut a TON of noise out.

                          If you are really serious the most effective way would be to switch to a stock dual outlet muffler, as suggested by Jason Morgan.

                            For the chevelle and my bro's jeep I went with:

                            VERY good stuff.
                            There is a cheaper version, but if you want to do it right go with this stuff.

                            For the bird it got spray on sound deadening.
                            VERY messy, pain in the *** , not as good as the real stuff, but it helps
