has any one ever tryed a cone filter as oppsed to a whisper lid

i used by buddys cone filter off of his svt contou, it took some modding, like a 90 turn in the pipe to make it tale air from the ground, probably not as good performance a a whisper, but WOW!!! what a sound, his filter swirls the air into the throttle body, it whistles, when you hit the gas, and it sounds like a supercharger, not to mention a lot louder, and a lot more burble. WHAT A SOUND!
